The Sunshine Room is an area for children aged six months old to two years old. This purpose-built baby room is a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment.
Using movement, sound, colour and touch babies are encouraged to explore, develop and above all enjoy a second home. The nursery staff mirror the feeding habits, nappy changes and sleep routines parents/carers use at home, which is made possible through regular contact with your child's qualified and experienced key person. The Sunshine room benefits from a quiet and comfortable sleeping area.
The Raindrops Room is an area for children aged two years to three years old. Within this room, we ensure that every activity is a learning opportunity.
The children have access to structured, fun and stimulating activities that encourages them to develop their early maths, language and creative skills. Each child's experienced key person works closely with parents/carers to help potty train and ensure the children's sleep/rest routines mirror theirs at home. The Raindrop room benefits from a quiet zone and numerous activity areas and leads onto our beautiful outdoor area.
The Rainbow Room is a large open plan room comprising of four separate areas:
• The main activity space is used for learning activities, circle times and meal times.
• The ‘Book Nook’ is a comfortable and fun reading area filled an assortment of books from a variety of countries and cultures.
• The two stimulating role play areas (a familiar home corner and an imaginative play corner that changes each term depending on our topic.
The Rainbow Room is for pre-school children aged three years to five years old. It aims to ensure that children are ready and prepared for mainstream school. Our nursery staff follow the key areas of the Early Years and Foundation Stage. We follow an In The Moment learning approach ensuring that activities are rich, varied and child led. Every child has a qualified and experienced key person who tracks and record the children's progress and achievements in their individual learning journals.
The outdoor space is a safe and secure fully fenced area.
Suitable for all-year-round access, it is fully furnished with all of the necessary equipment and resources needed for creating a stimulating learning environment.
These features include:
• A sensory gardening area which will allow the children to grow their own plants, flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables
• A protective covered reading and story-telling area
• A creative ‘messy play’ area
• A bike path with access to age appropriate outdoor bikes and toys
• A large children’s construction area
• A mud kitchen and playhouse
• A music area complete with instruments and a stage area
• Various specific small world areas.
These areas provide children with boundless opportunities to learn by encouraging them to develop their curiosity, explore, use their imagination, sense of adventure, have fun and thrive during play.
