Code of Conduct for Parents and Carers
At Over The Rainbow Day Care, we are committed to ensuring that all children are safeguarded.
You can help us to maintain our responsibilities in the following ways:
Please do:
- Share information with staff on your child’s development, health and wellbeing.
- Let us know if someone else is collecting your child and give them a password. (See the Child Collection Policy for more information)
- Collect your child on time - if you are going to be unavoidably late then please contact the nursery as soon as possible to let us know. (See the Admission, Attendance and Fees Procedure and Child Collection Policy for more information)
- Ensure you can safely transport your child to and from the nursery using age appropriate car seat restraints.
- Feedback any suggestions and ideas to the nursery staff.
- Direct any worries, concerns or complaints to the manager, arranging a meeting if required.
Please refrain from:
- Using inappropriate language or displaying aggressive or threatening behaviour towards the staff, children or other parents/carers either in person, on the phone or in writing.
- Collecting your child(ren) from nursery if you have consumed alcohol, medication or other substances that have affected your judgement or responses. (See Smoking, Drugs and Alcohol Policy)
- Discussing sensitive issues within earshot of your child, other children or adults.
- Taking photos or videos of children other than your own – only during specific occasions and when it has been approved by the manager - e.g. it may be possible for parents/carers to take pictures of their children in the nursery for special events such as birthdays or Christmas parties. The manager will advise on what is appropriate use and considering other parents/carers wishes for their own children. (See Information Technology, Mobile Phones and Digital Media Policy)
Key Policies are featured on our website. All other policies are available at any time from the nursery manager.
