At Over The Rainbow Day Care, we provide a vast array of art-based, cultural and musical experiences and opportunities for children to enjoy.

By promoting these positive elements within our nursery -combined with a strong emphasis on encouraging a healthy body and a healthy mind (through exploring nature, exercise, healthy eating and mindfulness) – we support the development of these important intrinsic qualities.

The learning journey begins here!

Our nursery provides a wide range of opportunities for children to explore, create and share their thoughts, ideas and feelings, through a variety of art, music, movement, dance, imaginative and role-play activities, We believe that such opportunities bring a vibrancy to learning that results in a much deeper understanding of, and attention to a child’s needs and interests. This leads to sustainable progression, raising standards of achievement, and a sense of fulfilment.

Over The Rainbow Day Care ensures children's creativity is extended to support their curiosity, exploration and play , helping to develop confident, imaginative and happy children!

Our learning environment is split into three individual, age-appropriate rooms & outdoor space.

The Sunshine Room

The Sunshine Room is an area for children aged six months old to two years old. This purpose-built baby room is a safe, stimulating and nurturing environment.

Using movement, sound, colour and touch babies are encouraged to explore, develop and above all enjoy a second home. The nursery staff mirror the feeding habits, nappy changes and sleep routines parents/carers use at home, which is made possible through regular contact with your child's qualified and experienced key person. The Sunshine room benefits from a quiet and comfortable sleeping area.

The Raindrops Room

The Raindrops Room is an area for children aged two years to three years old. Within this room, we ensure that every activity is a learning opportunity.

The children have access to structured, fun and stimulating activities that encourages them to develop their early maths, language and creative skills. Each child's experienced key person works closely with parents/carers to help potty train and ensure the children's sleep/rest routines mirror theirs at home. The Raindrops room benefits from a quiet zone and numerous activity areas and leads onto our beautiful outdoor area.

The Rainbow Room

The Rainbow Room is a large open plan room comprising of four separate areas:
• The main activity space is used for learning activities, circle times and meal times.
• The ‘Book Nook’ is a comfortable and fun reading area filled with an assortment of books from a variety of countries and cultures.
• The two stimulating role play areas (a familiar home corner and an imaginative play corner that changes each term depending on our topic.

The Rainbow Room is for pre-school children aged three years to five years old. It aims to ensure that children are ready and prepared for mainstream school. Our nursery staff follow the key areas of the Early Years and Foundation Stage. We follow an In The Moment learning approach ensuring that activities are rich, varied and child led. Every child has a qualified and experienced key person who tracks and records the children's progress and achievements in their individual learning journals.

The outdoor space

The Outdoor Space is a safe and secure fully fenced area.

Suitable for all-year-round access, it is fully furnished with all of the necessary equipment and resources needed for creating a stimulating learning environment.

These features include:
• A sensory gardening area which will allow the children to grow their own plants, flowers, herbs, fruits and vegetables

• A creative ‘messy play’ area
• A bike path with access to age appropriate outdoor bikes and toys
